good news everyone
the kernal errors were fixed by reinstalling grub in synaptic
the nvidia driver problem was fixed by installing the one on the website instead of that of synaptic

Will do that, be back in a while.

So I guess I can't rely on the
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg to save the OS whenever I mess things up anymore.

But what about the Kernal that has been giving me errors ever sine I upgraded...
