Yeah restoring the original sources.list and enabling all the repositories allowed me to run the update sucessfully.

I think you would be better off just buying a wireless router, more flexible than this thing and your pc wont need to be on in order to play.

I found Openbox was a good solution for use on my laptop. The interface is basic, but since all I ever seem to do is use firefox for the entire seission 90% of the time it is more than sufficient....
