    I searched and, of course, figured out that the time delay and order of GRUB are easily changed with the 'default' and 'timeout' settings in the menu.lst file so that worked great.

    I am pretty sure that GRUB was on the MBR of my main booting HDD, however, I dont quite remember for sure, but I may have possibly overwritten it in a recent install of WinXP?

    i tried this and it killed my sound.. no sounds at all. i tried restoring the backup.. doesnt work.. if i try playing music in rhythmbox the progress scrolls really fast but still.. no sound.
