Re: How-to: Run Ragnarok Online in WINE

It seems to depend very heavily on your GPU.

Re: How-to: Run Ragnarok Online in WINE

My Linux-terminal-fu is weak lately, but I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you where WINE keeps Program Files.

Re: How-to: Run Ragnarok Online in WINE

Wow, this game is still around. It looks like Gravity just dropped a pretty big update on iRO with a new client.

Since this thread is still the #1 result on Google for ragnarok online ubuntu, I...

Re: How often do you have problems with Ubuntu?

No problems in the year I used Ubuntu before, and none in the 4 days I've been back on it.
  5. Re: Shooting for the Perfect 10.10 with Maverick Meerkat

If 10 is the traditional perfect, wouldn't 10.10 cause a buffer overflow? :P

Re: How-to: Run Ragnarok Online in WINE

I wrote this guide two years ago. The client has probably changed considerably since then, and I haven't played in about a year. Someone else will have to figure it out. :P
  7. Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

After being told for so many years that NTFS write support is unreliable, I'm a little paranoid about it. Has anyone had significant problems with it?

    Re: Urgent News! Tux500.com

That was kind of a lame end; at least the driver seemed to walk away unharmed.

    Re: Feisty's Trouble with jpg?

That definitely sounds like the cause. My antique 2mp camera produces 2MB, so it's easy to see an 8MP camera putting out images greater than 5MB.
  10. Re: Another migrant trying to find a replacement for dreamweaver

I've always just used Kate and konqueror's FTP functionality. You might want to try that out too.

Kate has "sessions", which are functionally similar to "Sites" in dreamweaver.

    Sticky:Poll: Re: Welcome, Introduce Yourself

My name is Michael, and I've played around with Linux since 2000, but didn't start using it full-time until the release of Dapper.

  13. Re: why is Dell being wishy-washy about having Linux pre-installed on OEMs?

That would be equivalent to coca-cola only selling water. They know their product isn't too good for their customers, but if they stop selling it, the customers go elsewhere.

    If Dell cut MS off,...

Re: Look what just went open source!!!!

All DirectX is is APIs, right? I'm sure it won't be easy, but porting it over to SDL wouldn't be impossible if the OSS community set their minds to it. :P

    Re: ubuntu virus?

I wonder what AV vendors would call Ubuntu...

    Ubuntu@x86blah

Who comes up with the naming schemes for malware anyway? It always seemed a bit clunky, and there doesn't appear to be a standard.

Poll: Re: Do you shutdown ur computer?

I have no real reason to shut down. This one is pretty low power; just as much power as I need to get the job done. All my power comes from a mix of nuclear and hydroelectric, so the environment is...
  18. Poll: Re: If Microsoft made all of their software OSS, would you use it?

If they made a reliable port of VB.net and the .net framework, I would probably use that. :P

For now, I use gambas for my RAD.

Re: How I got Dreamweaver 8 + Fireworks 8 to work!

    It's a matter of taste. :P

Industry standard doesn't equate to "best for everyone". Maya and 3dsmax are industry standard for CGI, but I find them to be painful to use, and stick to blender +...
