Trying to get Wine to run in 64bit is like trying to find gas under $2.00/gal.
Did you install the Nvidia patch before compiling Wine?
Sorry, I posted quite late. The screen took forever to load and jetted straight to the bottom of the thread.
Anyway, if all else fails - get a small harddrive that'll fit WoW on it. Could save a...
If I recall they offer their discs on a bittorrent link on their site somewhere.
Find someone who has World of Warcraft and borrow the disks. Also, if you own the disks but they don't work. I suggest that you aquire the DVD version. It makes installing a hell of a lot easier.
When you load up WoW, does it ask to reload the default settings? Do you click yes? If so, don't do that anymore.
run
wine WoW.exe -opengl
Don't click reload default settings, ever.
Now I'm getting an error when running wine WoW.exe -opengl
The error (I forgot to copy & paste it logged off of Kubuntu :-() is telling me that opengl32.dll, wined3d.dll, and ddraw.dll are not found...
We're folliwng the HowTO quite well, huh? We over looked how to run ./configure.
LDFLAGS="-L/lib32 -L/usr/lib32 -Wl,-rpath,/lib32 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib32" ./configure
Thanks for pointing that...

I'm going to assume that you're behind a firewall/router and you need to open port 7777 on it and direct it to your LAN IP.
This way, when someone connects to 84.102.21.118:7777, it'll be directed...
That's 100% where I'm at. I can't figure it out.
I've run into so many errors trying to get Wine working on Kubuntu 6.06 64bit, I've come to wonder if people are joking when they say "I've got it to work."
This might be helpful to you. It got me a...

Never used it myself. There generally isn't much talk about it anywhere I'd go so I'd assume that gaming with it isn't anything worth noting, otherwise it would've caught on.
The problem with running a windows emulator is that the emulation layer eats up performance on a good many games. I play World of Warcraft using Wine ( http://www.winehq.com ) and I only run at about...
I'm getting the error while running ./configure in the first step of compiling Wine.
Here's my config.log

Actually, if you read the last post, you'd notice that I'm switching it to an Oceanic server for just that purpose. The forums will also be up today. I'm working on them right now.
...
In the best interest of World Wide Linux users, I made a PC on the Oceanic Server called Aman'Thul. I'll switch over the guild info when the guild is created there.
PC name is: Uunurru
Correct. It's gotta be with how something is configured I'm sure. I'm going to play around for a little while. Hell, if I can get it up to 30 fps consistantly, I'll be more comfortable playing WoW in...
<double post>
I have all that stuff off. There's probably something in the Config.wtf that I can turn off to fix it.
If anyone is hesitant on creating a new character, I'll flat out drop what I'm doing and either create a lowbie with you or pull you through quests with my main.
