Re: What Book are you reading now?

This has got to be some of most painful prose ever written in the English language. Apocalypse Now is a great film, though.

As for me, I'm always reading several books at a time. Currently...

[ubuntu] Re: WEP key will not save

I have the same problem. NetworkManager queries me for my password every time I log in. I have enabled auto-login, perhaps that has something to do with it...?

    Re: Linux-friendly mp3 player?

I HAVE to warn everyone thinking of buying this that its support of Ogg is horrible. It can play Ogg just fine, but it cannot read the tags which means you can't navigate them in your library, you...
  4. Re: Serious Ubuntu ad from Dell - in US newspapers

Nice! Very fitting that they present it along with a cup of coffee.

  6. Re: what would be the fastest way to learn unix?

http://linuxcommand.org is a fantastic site that takes you from complete newbie to script master if you go all the way. You don't have to, of course :-)

Re: Handbrake now with 'real' GTK GUI

What about the icons - are they specific to Handbrake or can I get the theme somewhere?
  8. Re: the new Dell Mini Inspiron UMPC and Ubuntu netbook remix may play together...righ

I've had first gen Eee for 3 months, but managed to break the keyboard yesterday. I might buy this if I can't figure out how to fix it... looks very promising.
  9. Re: What languages can you/do you want to speak?

    你会说汉语马? 我会说一点儿。也说丹麦语英语。

I speak Danish (native) and English. Understand the other Scandinavian languages completely and speak a little Swedish. Know a bit of French too.

    I'm going to study...

Re: What Book are you reading now?

Right now I´m reading Laws Divine and Human by Chinese religious philosopher Laozi (the founder of Daoism) as well as Mao´s little red book. I´m traveling China at the moment so it makes for good...
  12. Poll: Re: The paradox of FOSS projects supporting Windows

I actually started using Inkscape on Windows instead of a cracked Macromedia Fireworks with the intent of easing my switch to Linux later on (and I obviously did switch). Inkscape really is awesome...

Re: What Book are you reading now?

The Ego and Its Own by Max Stirner

I started reading it because I found several sources saying he was a great inspiration to Nietzsche. Now that I've read about half of the book, I think it's safe...

  16. Re: Europeens, how is Holloween "treated" in your country?

I've never celebrated it, but some people do. It's very commercial, but aren't all holidays these days? It's not big, but it's not going away either.

    Re: Gnome's got the blues?

The standard Gnome theme navigation icons used in Epiphany are all blue. That is a huge usability mistake in my opinion. Not every icon, but every icon related to navigation. Take a look at the...

    Re: Gnome's got the blues?

I'm talking about the icons in Epiphany all being silhuets of the same colour, not whether or not blue is beautiful...

    Re: Gnome's got the blues?

Yeah, it's awesome. It's just a shame you can't tell the icons apart from their colours alone (there's only eight of them after all). They're just blue silhuets.

    Gnome's got the blues?

I can't remember ever seeing Gnome this blue. KDE is often criticised for its far too blue set of icons, but take a look at Epiphany in Gnome 2.20! I use the Tangerine icons which are - surprisingly...

Not where I'm from. Women generally want to show their curves, so the loose t-shirts are not very popular with women (I guess).

    Re: What's for dinner?
