Thread: Iceweasel icon

  1. #121

    Re: Iceweasel icon

I plopped an IceApe icon on the wiki and in the OP. It's not perfect, but it's a start.

I've tacked the svg on here, since there's a five-attachment limit to posts. I'll try to link to it from the OP. Sneaky, aren't I?

The ape looks great! Tho the globe doesn't fit so well with the concept. Perhaps a cog, wrench, or page of script instead of the globe would be more suitable.

I was a little at a loss for what to put on there. The original icon is a ... uhm ... I'm not sure what it is. Is it a sea monkey?

Anyway, I figured if it's an all-in-one ... "Web-browser, advanced e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing made simple -- all your Internet needs in one application" ... I couldn't go too far wrong with a globe.

Mine is posted in the OP; perhaps others have theirs posted elsewhere.

I like a lot your ape!

It's true than in small sizes, it loses some detail, but it looks great in normal size.

I've taken your svg as base and I've thickened the lines, because it's the only way to keep detail in small sizes. This is the result :

I see too many ferrets and just a few weasels.

Here another try to the IceApe. Now with light-blue lines, I think that gives it an icy look...

And here I've made the ape bigger than the globe.

I like it more now, I find the ape more awe-inspiring now. Maybe it's my hidden King Kong fanboy self, but I like big awe-striking apes.

I've also used the same color schema that my Iceweasel proposal, and changed ape's ear.

    What do you think ?
