Install xmoto, set it to non-opengl and start getting addicted

If you like puzzle games, try fishfillets-ng.
It's in the repositories, it's funny, and fun to play!

run from the command line (or alt-f2)

    Code:
    xmoto -ugly
I realized it does make the game really ugly, but it's still fun as the physics are exactly the same.

if you're into oldies but goodies, like realtime RPG/dungeon crawlers, I'd suggest you try dungeon master and chaos strikes back.
available for download in native linux flavour on the dungeon master and chaos strikes back encyclopaedia clone page

if you don't mind losing all your time and sanity (if you have any) I suggest you try to survive your first winter in dwarf fortress.
And once you have miserably failed, like we all did before you, The Dwarf Fortress Wik will prove itself handy in helping your dwarves live another day/month/season/year.
(dwarf fortress requires wine to be played under linux.)

    Frozen Bubble.
Some people say I'm a man of few words, but the fact is that most people talk too much without actually saying anything.
