gnome-commander is another type of file manager, very popular among those who used norton commander on Windows. midnight-commander (mc) is another such manager, but it's command-line based.
But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.

Go mc! I either use mc or the command prompt, but if I want to install a font, I use Nautilus because I'm too lazy, and its "fonts://" thing makes it easy

    Check this page out http://applications.linux.com/articl...2226202&tid=13
they have listed quite a few, Right now I'm sort of looking around for an alternative to nautilus, not that nautilus doesn't work just fine it's just that it's boring and compared to konqueror it is not as feature rich.
